At "In-OUT Options" employers can create the events they wish to track and that require employees to clock in and out.
Employers can create whatever type of event they need to properly track their workforce attendance and know how many hours an employee has actually worked.
Examples of time tracking events: start and end of the workday, start and end of a break or rest, start and end of the lunch break, start and end of an outdoor visit....
Configuring the right time tracking events is vital to track attendance and worked hours properly; please take into account that the events that you add at this section are the basis for:
Workday or shift tracking. Bioweb automatically records the date and time an event is clicked on by a user. Bioweb can notify the employer when a user clocks in late or clock out early by comparing the punch time with the day's schedule and acts as a timer, calculating an employee's total worked hours by day, week and month. Schedules are configured at the Calendar Events> Schedules section, and notifications are configured at the My Account> Alert Configuration section
Attendance tracking. Bioweb automatically records the IP address from which users click on an event at the browser version (Bioweb) and the GPS location of a mobile device when users click on the event at the mobile version (Bioapptil). Additionally, the mobile version can request the user to take a selfie when punching or to scan his fingerprint to authenticate his identity prior to clicking on an event. These unforgeable authentication methods allow employers to control remote work and prevents fraud from dishonest employees.
At the left menu, click on "In-OUT Actions" and then on "In-OUT Options".
To add a new time tracking event, click on the "Add In-OUT Option" button. By default, Bioweb has created the basic workday event, which is clocking in and out of the shift. Please note that every event has 2 options or states: in (start) and out (end).
Device: enable the options for employees to be able to log or punch the events:
Web, to enable employees to clock in and out at a browser from any computer, mobile phone or tablet (Bioweb website)
App, to enable employees to clock in and out at an mobile application from a smartphone (Bioapptil app)
Event: insert a short descriptive name for the event taking into account it will only be seen by you and authorised managers of the Bioseb service.
Event type. There are 2 types of time tracking events:
Start/End of working day: this event enables employees to clock in and out the start and end time of their shift. Configure more than one "Start/End of working day" type of event if you wish to clarify events that escape from the standard shift like a remote working shift for example.
Pause: this event enables employees to clock in and out the start and end time of any pause during the shift. During the start and end of a pause, Bioweb pauses the recording of total hours worked automatically.
In Action Name: insert a short descriptive name for the clock in of the event, taking into account it will be public for users to click on it when the event starts. For example, "Start rest break", "Start client visit".
In Record Method. There are 3 methods to record the end time of an event. Normal is the default method, and it is always applied even if you choose one of the other methods from the drop list:
Normal: records event by IP address/GPS location.
Photo: records event upon making a self portrait photo of the user, apart from the IP/GPS. At the moment this method is only available at the Bioapptil mobile version.
Fingerprint: records event upon scanning the fingerprint of the user, apart from the IP/GPS. At the moment this method is only available at the Bioapptil mobile version.
Out Action Name: insert a short descriptive name for the clock out of the event, taking into account it will be public for users to click on it when the event ends. We recommend to use the same route as the In Action Name but with different ending, for example, "End rest break", "End client visit".
Out Record Method: there are 3 methods to record the end time of an event.
When you have finished, click on the "Save and back" button. Your event will appear at the event list.
Click here to see the settings of an event that enables employees to log this event both at the Bioweb website and at the Bioapptil app, and tracks the start and end of a shift ("start/end of working day" type) requiring fingerprint authentication when clocking in and photo authentication when clocking out.
Click here to see the settings of an event that enables employees to log this event only at the Bioweb website, and tracks the start and end of a lunch break ("pause" type) by recording the IP address both when the luch break starts and ends.
Click here to see the settings of an event that enables employees to log this event only at the Bioapptil app and tracks the start and end of a visit to a client out of the office ("pause" type), requiring photo authentication when the event starts and fingerprint authentication when it ends.
